For our challenge this week you have two options ....

Happy Birthday Hoots

My card today was made for a special friend's birthday last week. My friend loves interactive cards and owls, themes that I try to incorporate into my cards each year.

This is my first attempt at an acetate window card with a pop up inside.
For this card I created the inside first. I cut 3 pieces of designer paper just a bit smaller than the base card, and attached in place. The front panel was attached with temporary tape so that I could lift it and add acetate behind it once the window was cut. I then used the pop up mechanism to work out where I wanted the window on the front to be so that my owls would be seen through the window, when the card was closed. I then glued the mechanism in place and attached the label. Using a label die one size smaller I temporary attached it with the cutting side facing the front so that I could then cut out the window on the front panel. I then added the acetate and two die cut frames, using nested dies. I hope you can understand my instructions so far, If not Karen Burniston the designer of the pop up die has some great video tutorials that are easy to watch.
The owls are stickers covered with micro fine glitter and coloured with copic pens.
On the front of the card I have used the Happy Birthday die and layered the die four times. For the top layer I created an ombre look with distress inks. I coloured some white card with distress inks and die cut the tree and foliage adding it to the left side around the framework. I added some crystal nuvo drops to look like dew around the foliage. I just discovered that nuvo drops can take on the colour of distress ink that you apply it on top of, which I don't mind in this case.
The inside of the card was looking a bit plain after all that work on the front, so I added a stamped tree image, fussy cut it out and placed it behind the owls so they look like they are sitting on the branch.

Cute little Bunny

Welcome to this months challenge with the CCEE team.

Please use a fun fold of your choice....one may be  your "go to" fold, or you may want to try something new.  That's what I decided to do.  I love easel cards and found a tutorial on You Tube to make a "Double Twisted Easel" card.  Pretty easy and unique.

For my fun fold card today, I chose to use the twist panel pop up die set.

My card was decorated with images and papers that came free in a magazine.

Here is just another image of the card opened fully.

Supplies:
Karen Burniston dies The Twisted Panel pop-up set.
Make special cards issue 10 - free stamps, die cuts and designer papers

Grumpy Goose

Welcome to this weeks CCEE Stampers Challenge. Hostess Vicky continues with the challenge theme.

Can you believe it.....it's "National Goof Off Day"..... has to be one of my favorite days evah!!  So, this week, I challenge you to make a funny card.....any kind of card - just so it's funny.  Surely, you have a friend who would enjoy a laugh!

I decided to get a head start on my Christmas cards. I picked this up a recent craft show and thought it would be perfect to today's theme, since it made me smile. After all who doesn't wish they had fat pants at Christmas. The stamp set is from Sparkle n Sprinkle called Grumpy Goose, I have also used circle dies, nuvo drops and a Christmas designer paper for my background.

March Sketch

Welcome to this week's sketch challenge with the Crazy 4 challenges team.

The die that I have used on my card was  a birthday gift from a friend, Susan's Garden Dahlia 2, I teamed it with the moda scrap gatefold elegant roses.
On the inside I have used Kaisercraft popup die and a fisthtail die with 2 flower petals and a gem stone. My sentiment is from Concord & 9th.

Looking sharp in Green

Hi there,
It is time for this week's challenge with the CCEE stampers team.

Wow, we're three weeks into March already.....and St. Patrick's Day is on the horizon.  This week, let's make a St. Patrick's Day card.....or.....use the color green on your card!  Not all of us can use a St. Patrick's Day card, but green is a wonderful color with endless possibilities!

Wow I love anything green, that seemed to be true with this photo of my card today. It didn't matter which angle or how many times, I took the photo the light just seemed to bounce green off the background, so I am sorry for the poor quality of this photo.

I finally had the chance to play with this Sizzix Cactus card die, it was super easy to use. I created a 3d cactus with the center panel, that you could pop out and use as a book mark.

I used the Concord & 9th stuck on you stamps set for my sentiment and basket. I the card seemed to stay open to wide for my liking so I made a belly band for the bottom.

Here is my photo ready for postage, I am much happier with the truer colours in these photos.

Not for Chickens

Welcome to this weeks challenge with the Crazy 4 Challenges team.

Today is National Poultry Day  and our challenge is to create a chicken card - of course if you don’t have a chicken stamp, you can certainly use any type of fowl - cardinal, robin, flamingo - something with feathers!

As you can see I went with the chicken theme, this image reminds me of a saying "Happy Birthday you old chook". I guess the saying came about because in Australian slang if a girl is a chick, so as you get older you must be an old chook , which is the opposite of spring chicken.

On the inside I made it an interactive card using the Karen Burniston  - Katherine Label pop-up and added the cupcake from the cupcake pop-up die set.

3d die cut words

Hi there, it is week 2 of Vicky's challenge on CCEE Stampers and for our challenge we are playing around with techniques using Die Cut Words.

My card today is made just using die sets and some distress oxide inks for the background. The 3D word was cut four times in white card and then I added another layer with heat embossing powder.

Don't forget to check out the CCEE Stampers blog to see the rest of the creations the CCEE Stampers have created this week. You can also see more details of their creations on their individual blogs.

Eat Dessert first.

Welcome to another challenge with the Crazy 4 Challenges team.

Today is National Banana Cream Pie Day - one of my favourites! My challenge to you is to create a Dessert card - which can include pie of course, or ice cream, or cookies - anything you consider to be a sweet dessert!

Sometimes you just don't have room for dessert, so I just love this sentiment " Life is uncertain Eat dessert first!"
When I found a supply of micro bead, that looked like cake sprinkles I knew I just had to make a shaker card since it had been awhile since I had made one.

I created the card using the Stitched square frames from Paper Roses and the Stampendous cling cupcake ant. I placed a few drops of glue around the ant before adding the micro beads so they stayed in place and didn't all fall to the bottom.
Here is the card lying flat to show all the beads.

Enjoy the summer

Welcome to this weeks CCEE challenge with Vicky as our hostess.

For my first challenge, Today is "National Pigs Day"...let's see some fun pigs on our cards today.  Pinterest is loaded with them and/or there's always Old McDonald!

Even though today is the first day of Autumn for me, it felt like a hot summer's day and in the pool or at the beach was the place to be.

I just love theses Gerda Steiner pool piggies, they are just a perfect size for Karen Burniston's Tag book pop-up die set.

I have used Karen's nature edges for the waves and clouds and the waves was made with watercolour paper and distress oxide inks.
